In my yoga practice, and when I’m teaching yoga classes to others, I love to bring in the idea of inviting an intention into the hour. Just a silent word or a phrase, something I’d like to bring into my own life or something I’d like to extend to someone else.
My word for the last couple years has been “ease.” Letting go of the need to fight against or push through, to prove myself right or to overdo efforts that may only leave me feeling deflated. Since welcoming the concept of EASE as much as possible (this little painting hangs above my mirror), I’ve been grateful to remind myself that struggle shouldn’t be the norm; that flow is more likely to happen when we don’t dam its path. Finding the route of least resistance doesn’t necessarily equate to laziness. It can mean self-knowledge that can springboard us into some pretty amazing fulfillment. Wishing you ease today.
